leeshaker.com | Lee Shaker Dot Com – Since 2009

My name, as you may have surmised, is Lee Shaker. This blog / site is my outpost on the web. On it, I’m posting some professional materials related to my academic career (I have a Ph.D. from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania – always a mouthful). I’ve also got some feed widgets set up to share some of what I’m reading and seeing. Occasionally, I’l actually try to blog too.

As of Fall 2011, I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Portland State University. I teach courses on mass media, politics, and cities — which is convenient because those are the topics that my research focuses on as well. If you poke around the website, you’ll probably be able to find out more about all this. Thanks for stopping by…

Lee? I’d recognize those crab legs anywhere.

  • Lee, so glad to see your high school English teachers’ hard work paid off! ;o) Not that your writing abilities didn’t already come well-honed. Kudos to you and your myriad successes. Drop me a line sometime…there are three little McMichael girls now who will have to deal with their mama correcting their grammar.

Hello Lee. I believe you to be the long lost friend who last sent me a postcard of a camel ride. The way you write and what others are writing about you have led me to think this. If this is not the Lee from Warren, OH that I know, then sorry to have bothered you. If so, shoot me an e-mail b/c I would love to hear from you.
